$14-million-dollar Calgary estate comes with private nine-hole golf course and clubhouse

You’ve heard people say “how the other half lives” before. Generally it means how the world’s most affluent individuals live. Eight-car garages, lagoon-like pools, wine cellars, bathrooms the size of New York apartments. You know, the works. But in today’s day and age the “other half” doesn’t even begin to tell the full story. To truly understand the vast concentrations of the world’s wealth, you have to look at much smaller percentiles. When it comes to the Calgary real estate market, that means this $14,000,000 compound featuring a private nine-hole golf course and clubhouse. This is how the other one percent lives.

This 12,000-square-foot spread isn’t short on amenities. There’s seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, multiple lounges, a beer tap in the kitchen, and a massive game room with two pinball machines and a full spa. But obviously the crown jewel is the Gary Browning-designed nine-hole track replete with its own private clubhouse. “Living the dream” doesn’t do this justice, because even our dreams aren't this far fetched.

Now, we’re not sure if shelling out $14 million for an estate with a private golf course is a great value in a place when said golf course is covered in snow six months out of the year, but then again, value isn’t the name of the game here. The name of the game is golf, and as ballooning driver prices and eye-watering greens fees continue to prove, there’s nothing we won’t pay to get our fix.
