U.S. Open odds 2023: Is there value on Jon Rahm?

Following his Masters win in April, it felt like a lock that Jon Rahm would be the solo favorite at short odds at every major the rest of the season. What if I told you that was not the case at this week's U.S. Open, and that he's dipped into double-digit odds territory? Is that something you might be interested in?
We'd imagine yes, yes it is. Coming off a 50th-place finish at the PGA Championship and a respectable-but-not-impressive 16th-place finish at the Memorial Tournament, the oddsmakers have made the Spaniard the second favorite at 11-1 for our national open at LACC. Scottie Scheffler, the current World No. 1, is the solo favorite at 7-1 on the FanDuel Sportsbook.
Rahm is joined at 11-1 by Brooks Koepka, who is looking to become the first player to win back-to-back majors since Jordan Spieth pulled off the rare feat in 2015, winning the Masters and then the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay. The five-time major winner already has two U.S. Open titles to his name, the first coming in 2017 at Erin Hills and the second the following year at Shinnecock. Koepka has played only once at LIV D.C., where he tied for 12th, since his victory at Oak Hill. Rory McIlroy is 13-1, while Patrick Cantlay and Viktor Hovland are at 17-1.
